Bio
Derrick Maurice Sanderson
Derrick receives his inspiration from nature, people and current events, often turning the tables on what is seen into what is beautiful and whimsical about these topics. He often selects a color palate that is contrary to reality which evokes a reality people who connect with his art want to experience.
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio Derrick relocated to Boston and never looked back. His art has become popular and in demand in the Boston and MetroWest suburbs of the city. He is an active member of the Natick Art Association and often participates in programs throughout the year where is art is showcased. In 2017, Derrick was honored by the Boston Celtics where his painting of Avery Bradley (then a point guard for the Celtics) was received by the team owners and displayed in the TD Garden Putnam Club.

Derrick has received numerous commissions for his art, particularly his whimsical nature paintings and continues to experience both creative and commercial success. "Incorporated in my paintings are my interest in the fine arts, my love for detail and my fascination with abstracts. The vivid color and shapes I utilize speaks to the inner, child-like soul in us all. I specialize in illustrations, original paintings and drawings. My medium choices include pencil, watercolor, acrylic and pastels. Feel free to contact me about my work and commissions".
